The Starting Point

When Morrisville Counseling and Consulting came to BROADSTOKE, they had what a lot of small businesses have: a DIY website that was fine.

It worked. It existed.

But it didn't match the quality of the practice behind it.

The site had the look of something built by someone who isn't a designer (because it was).

A structure that made sense to the person who built it but not necessarily to the people trying to find a therapist.

And from an SEO perspective? It was missing a lot of people searching for their services.

The practice had four staff members and a website getting about 13 visitors a day.

To put it nicely: there was a lot of room for improvement.

The Work

We started where we always start—with the foundation.

The first step was creating a website that actually reflects who they are.

MCC's founder, Heather Steele, has a specific energy. She's a serious professional running a growing practice, but she's also someone who loves running, the color pink, and unicorns.

The old site didn't capture any of that personality. The new one does—without sacrificing the trust and credibility a therapy practice needs.

A structure built for humans and search engines.

We rebuilt the site architecture from scratch.

That meant dedicated pages for each service they offer (trauma therapy, EMDR, couples counseling, and more), location pages to capture local searches, and a clear path for visitors to take action.

Content that builds authority

We launched an ongoing SEO campaign focused on blog content.

Not fluff—actual helpful articles that answer the questions potential clients are already searching for.

One post alone has brought in over 5,000 visitors.

Support as they grew.

Over four years, we've continued evolving the site as the practice expanded.

When they relocated their office, we managed the transition to protect their Google Business Profile rankings (a move that tanks a lot of businesses when done wrong).

We've shot photos of the team, produced video bios, and designed print materials.

The website isn't a one-time project—it grows with them.

Working with Wes over the past few years has been an incredibly valuable experience. As someone who isn’t a website designer, I genuinely needed expert guidance, and Wes has consistently been there to help. From the very beginning, he’s been hands-on, attentive, and able to troubleshoot whatever challenges I’ve faced. He’s always approachable and maintains a professional demeanor with both myself and my staff. I have full confidence that no matter what I present to him, he will either handle it efficiently or find a suitable solution. Thanks to Wes’s expertise and support, I’ve seen a noticeable positive impact on my business growth. We plan to continue working with him because we’ve seen real results, and honestly, he’s just such a pleasure to collaborate with.

The First Year

There's a common misconception that SEO takes forever to work.

And yes, it's a long-term investment.

But when it's done right—when the foundation is solid from the start—you don't have to wait years to see results.

Here's what happened in year one:

Within a year, the phone was ringing twice as often and twice as many people were finding the website every single day.

But that was just the beginning.

Website traffic doubled.

+112% page views in 12 months.

Phone calls doubled.

5/month → 10/month from Google.

Daily visitors doubled.

From 13/day to 27/day.

GBP interactions up 21%.

More people seeing them. More people clicking.

The Long Game

SEO (when done correctly) compounds.

The work you do in year one sets up year two.

The content you publish keeps working while you sleep.

The rankings you earn get stronger over time.

Here's where things stood after four years:

Phone calls tripled.

From 13 a month to 55.

Overall traffic grew 662%.

The site became a consistent source of new clients.

Google Business Profile clicks up 37%.

More people finding them and clicking through.

The practice grew from 4 staff to 13.

That's not all us. But we're proud to be part of it.

The Takeaway

SEO isn't magic. It's not a switch you flip. But it's also not something that takes years to show any sign of life.

MCC saw results in the first few months—real results, like the phone ringing more often.

And because the foundation was built right, those results kept compounding.

Four years later, the website brings in clients on autopilot and the team has more than tripled.

That's what happens when you stop treating your website like a checkbox and start treating it like a growth engine.
